clauseA group of words that has a subject and a verb and is used as part of a sentence. |
complete predicateContains the simple predicate (verb) and any words that tell about the verb. |
complete subjectContains the simple subject and any words that describe the simple subject. |
complex sentenceMade upĀ of one independent clause and at least one dependent clause. |

dependent clauseHas a subject and a verb but does not tell a complete thought. |
