1.3 Navigating your way through T3

3. Accessibility Block

You will notice that there is an Accessibility Block that has been added to your My Home page.

The Accessibility Block looks like this on the side of your My home page.

The Accessibility Block will allow you to change the font size of your page as well as the background color. Therefore, if the font is too small for you to read, if you add the Accessibility Block you can adjust the size of the font. Some readers prefer to have their text highlighted in a different color so that the text stands out. You can choose yellow, light blue or black. To change any of the settings, just click on the button for each one until you find the preferred size and/or color. Once you have found the one that you like, there is a Save button in the Block to save the settings.

You may also choose to Launch the ATbar and if you choose Always, it will always appear on the top of the page. This bar has many options.

You can choose the size of the font, built-in spellchecker, dictionary, text to speech, readability, word prediction, change styles and a color overlay. Have fun!

You may have access to a Moodle site outside of this course at your ISD or local district. The blocks you have on your Moodle site are dependent on which blocks your Moodle administrator has chosen to add to the site. You may want to ask that the Accessibility Block be added to any courses that you teach because as you can see it is a great add-on for diverse learners.
