Day 14-18: September 16th-20th

Course event

Monday, September 16th- Day 14

  • Objective:  Students will practice/demonstrate proper touch keyboarding techniques, Students will demonstrate proper Word Processing, Research skills, and design skills.
  • Bellringer:  Typingtest.com (2- 3 minute timing, choose topic), print screen, create new Word file and save it as Week 4, date, paste screen to Word, crop (example), save
  • Previous Keys covered review
  • DTP Unit:
  • Discussion: Where is one place you would like to visit in your lifetime? Why?
  • Today we will start to create a travel brochure for the vacation destination of your choice. 
  • Research Due Date:  September 19th, end of class.
  • Show example of brochure
  • Handout worksheet/rubric for Travel Brochure assignment (extra in Moodle)
  • Discuss requirements/suggestions.
  • Research time – Use Microsoft Word to keep track of research.  (3-4 class periods)
  • Demonstrate how to keep track of information and sources!
  • Discussion/demonstration on Inside/Outside (students need to make sure they have enough information to fill both sides)

Tuesday, September 17th-Thursday, September 19th- Day 15-17

  • Objective:  Students will practice/demonstrate proper touch keyboarding techniques, Students will demonstrate proper Word Processing, Research skills, and design skills.
  • Bellringer:  Typingtest.com (2- 3 minute timing, choose topic), print screen, open Week 4 Word file and add to it, date, paste screen to Word, crop (example), save OR Nitrotype
  • Previous Keys covered review
  • DTP Unit:

  • Objective:  Students will practice/demonstrate proper touch keyboarding techniques, Students will demonstrate proper Word Processing, Research skills, and design skills.
  • Bellringer:  your choice
  • Publisher 2016:  Demonstrate how to create tri-fold template, change designs, change colors, etc...
  • Work Time on designing brochure template
  • Complete self-assessment rubric and then place in the class basket
  • Upload travel brochure to Moodle when completed
  • If done with brochure, work on Ultra Key lessons.
